The Sumatran Tiger lives in Borneo and Sumatra. It resides in forests, grasslands, and
wetlands. The epic Sumatran Tiger is at the top of the food web. It eats deer, fish, goats, wild pigs, birds, and monkeys. There are just fewer than 400 sumatran tigers left in the world. Their scientific name is Panthera Tigris Sumatrae. The lifespan of a Sumatran Tiger is about 15 to 20 years in the wild and up to 25 years in captivity. A adult  weighs 165 to 308 pounds. Why the Tiger is Endangered

Humans are endangering the Sumatran Tiger more than the animals that eat the tigers. Hunters kill the Sumatran Tigers for their skin and bones. Workers are cutting down trees to build properties with. Sometimes they build buildings in the forests where the tigers live. The Sumatran Tiger lives and hides around the trees. If all the trees were gone, the tigers would not have a home! And hunters are killing Sumatran Tigers! They use the tiger’s skin for jackets or other clothing.
