SAVE THE AFRICAN WILD DOG, THEY NEED YOU!!!

WHERE IT LIVES.

The African Wild Dog lives in the savanna. The savanna is a dry area with hardly any trees. The savanna is a wide sea of grass! There are savannas around the world, but the African Wild Dog lives in the savannas of eastern & southern Africa. The African Wild Dog is a carnivore. The African Wild Dog is also a hunter. The African Wild Dog eats : zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, impala and warthog. I chose to study the African Wild Dog because they're so cool looking and because they have “wild” in their name.

PREDATORS AND PREY.

The predators of the African Wild Dog are lions, spotted hyenas and farmers. The farmer is a threat because the they kill the African Wild Dog. The farmers kill the African Wild Dog because they think that they may eat their cattle. There are threats like hunting, increasing human population, diseases, habitat loss, poaching, overgrazing, destruction of land for commercial crops,all are really bad for the African Wild Dog. Also, making huts where the African Wild Dog hunts. The huts are a problem because the African Wild Dog won't have iny where to hunt, which will be a problem, not only for the African Wild Dog but also for the other animals!

HOW YOU CAN HELP

You can help the African Wild Dog by going to World Wildlife Fund and adopting an African Wild Dog.Or you can help by protecting the African Wild Dog’s food web, and by protecting the grasslands. You can protect the grasslands by NOT wiping out the grass eaters, and not killing too much grass.
